Been awhile

Just noted my last post was in 2018… Hmm, better write something to prove I’m still around 🙂

Well like most self-employed web folks things are a little quiet these days not withstanding the entire disaster that the last two years have been.. So I’ve actually got no excuse to build a portfolio site for my daughter before she completes her Illustration degree at Uni. It also give me a chance to mess around with WordPress 6 and building the site around Gutenberg blocks – thankfully made easier by ACF pro and Pinegrow’s latest IDE.

I might actually redo this website too – it’s looking a bit tired these days, a splash of colour perhaps!

More to follow…

Sourdough

One of my current projects is a for a Sourdough training course.

Built around WordPress, the pages are built using Elementor with the store using Woocoomerce for selling E-Booklets and booking courses that are viewed via Facebook Live! Transactions are handled via Stripe, which is incredibly easy to set up and test. An absolute pleasure if you’ve ever known the absolute P.I.T.A. that PayPals’s Sandbox is (or, let alone.. Sagepay.)

More details to come soon.

New look site

At long last!

Time to bid farewell to my old, old, old static web site that has served me well for 6 years and overhaul the site to spanking new CMS version.

This time the site is built around WordPress but using the Elementor Pro plugin. A very cool plugin which has really helped put this site together in record time. As a full time web guy, finding time to update your own site is pretty hard so I thought I’d give Elementor a shot after watching some YouTube demo videos and testing out the free version.

In fact, I’m currently working on a new website that is built around Elementor Pro. I could make puns (or buns) about kneading some more dough. So you can guess it’s a bread based project. More to come.
